Book Report – Compare/Contrast

It is helpful to offer students options for responding to self-selected books.  I usually choose options that give students an opportunity to use skills we’re learning during the same marking period the book report is due.  Usually quarter one lessons in middle school English classes  includes review and expansion of literary terms, elements of fiction, and writing about literature in ways that require students to use evidence from the text to support their claims, to incorporate quotations smoothly into their writing, and to cite those references.
